A.Lincoln: A Pioneer Tale
A new musical to premiere in June 2012 about the inspiring story of Abraham Lincoln growing up in the Indiana frontier: A. Lincoln: A Pioneer Tale, a two-act musical with ten original songs and score, will tell the inspiring story of Abraham Lincoln, a boy raised in the Indiana frontier became our nation’s most regarded president. Audiences will witness Abraham Lincoln’s Indiana Boyhood years come alive as President Lincoln tells these stores of joy and sorrow to his sons Willie and Tad in the Executive Mansion.
“This new musical will show that as the boy grew to a man in Indiana, and through determination of spirit and a compassion for the people, this common American achieved greatness. With this new musical play, audiences will experience and celebrate the life and times of this extraordinary man through song, dance, and spectacle,” says Ken Jones, writer and director of A Pioneer Tale.
A. Lincoln: A Pioneer Tale is written for Lincoln Amphitheatre’s stage; the 1500-seat, roofed amphitheatre that rests on the same grounds these tales took place.
